Chérie

Chérie, first came to Salinas’ studio to pose as young, shy, beautiful model with her luxuriant red locks.

Posed against a blue background with her tousled red hair, we admire and appreciate her outlined beautiful body, the glowing rounded curves are accentuated by cool blues.   

The first-time young model closes her eyes and turns her head away, too self-conscious to look at us.  She timidly poses, naively unaware of her youthful splendor and glory.

The painting was begun in the 1940’s and put aside for a few years.

With the wisdom of time, Salinas returned to this canvas and captured the fleeting moment of the nascent model’s bashful debut.
